Quiltmaker(s) and Credit: Dorothy Rother and Marian Dierschke selected and cut out the pieces. Dorothy pieced and then hand quilted the quilt. Dorothy and her late husband Daniel have 7 children and 24 grandchild. She makes a quilt for each grandchild when they get married. This quilt was made for Denton Leopold and his bride Mallory Jessop. Both attended Texas A&M University in College Station. that is what inspired Dorothy’s color selection. Her grandchildren truly treasure the beautiful gift she makes.

Quiltmaker(s) and Credit: Caitlynn Smart - Karnes County - pieced the top and finished the quilt. Connie Smart - Karnes County - used a long-arm quilting machine to quilt the quilt. The quilting was done free hand and the idea was to outline the crosses to show them off and then use a meandering stitch pattern in between the crosses.
