"God's Country"

"God's Country", Machine Quilting
"God's Country" White Ribbon - Adult
I have quilted for eight of my fifteen years. My first quilt at age seven was a nine patch and have created around 20 since. My passion has evolved into creating my own patterns. "God's Country" was created on printer paper after taking an algebra final. I love Texas and its beautiful country sides. I visioned the fabric for this pattern to represent that love and the amazing landscape that only the greatest artist could create, hence the name "Gods Country". I was especially inspired by the familiar landscapes of Frederiksberg Texas, I had seen with my family. I centered the design around Texas star while highlighting the beautiful longhorn fabric throughout, creating borders that added dimension as well as fun patterns. Not only do I love the front of my quilts to be unique, I like to add surprises on the back as well. On the back of this quilt I used my scraps to create a large pieced cross. When I imagine the great state of Texas, I imagine this quilt, "God's Country"
