Cottage Window Blue Ribbon - Adult

This quilt makes me think of a small window in a cozy cottage beneath a quiet forest canopy glowing softly from the light of warm, inviting fire. Hot food, steaming tea, and delightful conversation with close friends awaits us behind the glass.

This quilt was assembled using improvised piecing with scraps. To keep the pieces relatively rectangular, they were squared using the sashing lines as guides. The seams are all pressed to the narrow 1/4" sashing to give the sashing a raised texture like solder lines in real stained glass.
