"Summer Moon in Sweden" is a birthday gift for my sister who is married to a Swede and has lived in Sweden for over 40 years. Her favorite color is blue, and the fabrics I chose for her quilt are soft, cheerful and reminiscent of sunny, breezy spring-to-summer flower gardens like our grandmother planted and tended during our childhood. The winters in Sweden are quite harsh, so this gift should bring her much happiness on dark, dreary days.

Fabric choice and placement, piecing and binding by Karen Lee. Maching quilting by Cathy Tullos. Pattern used was Summer Moon by Carrie Nelson. The pattern book is advertised as a Block of the Month, but I did not participate in that. I chose all of my own fabrics. There are three sizes of each block, 5", 6-1/2" and 8." Some of the pieces were so small, I had to convert the cutting to the Jodi Barrows Square in a Square system to get 5/8" HSTs. It was challenging but worth the effort.
