The Broken Star Best of Category - Hand Quilted - Piecework - Adult

After completing several heirloom quilts for myself and others and making quilts for baby showers and weddings, my husband expressed a desire for a quilt made especially for him. After a bit of research, we agreed upon this broken-star pattern portrayed in red, white, and blue in honor of his military service. To get started, I used the "Lone and Broken Star" pattern by E-Z Mark Stencils and relied heavily on a Youtube tutorial "Building the Broken Star Quilt" by Sunrise Quilt Studio.
During the quilting process, I convinced a non-quilting friend, Martha Gutermuth to try her hand at quilting. After making a few stiches on my quilt, she's decided she'll stick to crocheting! I finished it shortly before our 50th wedding anniversary (October 2, 2021).
